Brian Hughes

Executive Director

After 25 years in corporate transportation, and more than ten years of helping others, Brian knew he had to do more. In 2018 he founded the Kansas City Dream Center to pursue his true calling: to transform lives and create new beginnings. As the president of the Kansas City Dream Center, he oversees daily operations with a heart full of compassion. Married to his wife, Shelly, for 27 years, they have one son who actually served the homeless before Brian. A fun fact about Brian is that he is proficient in Spanish, conversational in Arabic and excessively enjoys experiencing other cultures.

Abby Pickard

Pantry Coordinator

Abby Pickard worked as a building systems designer for four years until the Lord called her to work at the KC Dream Center. A couple years prior she and her husband were called to serve in the international mission field. While working at the KC Dream Center, for the remaining time in the states, she is in charge of the food pantry and clothing closet and is excited to serve those in need and hear their stories. Abby’s favorite hobbies include community service, baking, games of all kinds, and learning Japanese.

Cassi Reyes

Outreach Director

Cassi Reyes leads our outreach efforts, managing our food and clothing pantry, coordinating volunteers, and helping share our mission through social media. A native of Olathe, Kansas, she is proud of her Hispanic heritage and values the community and faith that have shaped her life. She is passionate about serving others and living out her faith by being the hands and feet of Jesus in the community. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Graphic Design from MidAmerica Nazarene University and has previously competed in multiple sports. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new coffee shops, and traveling whenever she has the opportunity.
