Brian Hughes
Executive Director
After 25 years in corporate transportation, and more than ten years of helping others, Brian knew he had to do more. In 2018 he founded the Kansas City Dream Center to pursue his true calling: to transform lives and create new beginnings. As the president of the Kansas City Dream Center, he oversees daily operations with a heart full of compassion. Married to his wife, Shelly, for 27 years, they have one son who actually served the homeless before Brian. A fun fact about Brian is that he is proficient in Spanish, conversational in Arabic and excessively enjoys experiencing other cultures.
Luke Vaughan
Director of Community Outreach
The driving force behind our outreach efforts, Luke manages our food and clothing pantry, oversees volunteers and runs our social media. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, he and his wife Melissa relocated to Kansas City in January 2024, following a call from God. With a background in full-time youth ministry, Luke is passionate about serving those in need and embodying the hands and feet of Jesus. In his free time he enjoys watching sports, movies, and spending quality time with Melissa.
Patty Finn
Pantry Coordinator
Beginning her journey with the Dream Center in 2018, Patty began volunteering alongside her husband, John. With a deep passion for serving others, she embraced her role within the community. After retiring as an occupational therapist in the spring, Patty joined the staff as the Food and Clothing Pantry Coordinator, striving to make the pantry accessible to all and meet the community’s needs. Outside the Dream Center, she enjoys time with her husband, five adult children and grandkids. Patty is also an active member of her church in Kansas City, Kansas.
Jen Jones
Outreach Coordinator
Pursuing her true passion in mission work, Jen joined the Kansas City Dream Center as Outreach Coordinator in 2024 after a successful career in retail management. Inspired by a strong calling to serve others that she felt in 2021, she began volunteering with the Dream Center, which eventually guided her into her current role. As Outreach Coordinator, Jen dedicates her time and energy to helping those in need across the community. Outside of her work, she loves spending time with her daughter, playing board games, and going on mission trips to support communities beyond Kansas City.
